LUU Amnesty is the Leeds University branch of Amnesty International. We meet every Thursday, 6pm at the University to discuss, organise and carry out campaigns to protect human rights worldwide. Recent successes have included supporting LGBTQ movements in Uganda and Russia, and raising awareness against FGM in Kenya. Currently we are working on a campaign against torture and are collaborating with a number of supporters to carry out a campaign supporting women’s rights in Afghanistan. We are always looking to work with new partners and welcome any members to join our group, whether you are a university student or not and regardless of previous experience and involvement.
