Our situation

Unfortunately, funding for our wonderfully resourceful Leeds for Change project has come to an end. Leeds for Change is a project of Leeds Tidal, but governed by its own Steering Committee of volunteers. Without sustainable income, Tidal will need to subsidise Leeds for Change from our reserves, impacting our organisational security. In the past we’ve received generous support from our funders the Seedbed Trust and the Scurrah Wainwright Charitable Trust. This helped get our ideas off the ground and enabled Leeds for Change to be realised. Whilst start-up funding is much easier to secure, it is incredibly hard to find long term funding for projects like ours that reliably offer essential activist infrastructure and support. This is why we need your support…

Our target: £600 a month

We need £600 a month to enable the project to continue. We are looking for new supporters to give a regular monthly donation to help us meet our core costs, so we can carry on the work we do to support activism in Leeds. As such a small project even a monthly donation of £2 would make a really big difference to our capacity to continue!

Why regular donations are so valuable

Regular donations from local people make a big impact on our financial security. It gives us the autonomy and certainty to continue providing our services and also developing the project. It also frees up our limited time searching for restrictive grant money, that is a struggle to come by. Here’s exactly what your monthly donation would help us with;

The difference this will make

As well as covering our server costs and occasional web development, your support will directly fund us to;

  • Employ a volunteer coordinator to support and train volunteers;
  • Continue keeping our activism directory up to date,
  • Sending our inspiring newsletter out once a month to over 600 local people
  • Deliver new events and 1-2-1 activist support
  • Develop our support, tools, content and resources for changemakers in Leeds to thrive!
