Land, Food & Agriculture

These groups recognise the need to change the way land is owned, used, distributed and controlled, so that all people have a right to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods.

On a local scale, groups are involved with creating, maintaining and increasing access to green spaces in Leeds, including allotments, parks, gardens and more. Groups also look to reduce food waste, and to promote healthy eating and sustainable food growth.

Rainbow Junktion

This community waste food cafe aims to reduce food waste, fight food poverty and build community. They intercept food that would otherwise go to waste from supermarkets and a number of other sources, and then the volunteers turn it into healthy, nutritious lunches for whoever walks through the door on a pay-as-you-feel donation basis. Rainbow Junktion also run events, workshops and provide outside catering for other community projects.
