Leodians is an informal group which provides young professionals in Leeds with a common platform to run charitable projects on issues that interest them. No faffing about, no bureaucracy, just a chance to contribute directly at ground level.

We aim to develop and implement new projects based directly on the interests of our members, and how they fit with what’s needed. So, pretty much anything is fair game. Come to us with a crazy project idea that might just work, and we’ll help you get it going.

Our main project up to now has been The Great Debate, a debating club which our members founded for pupils at David Young Community Academy. Now into its second year, our members have been able to step back a bit and let the kids themselves run this project directly. This all part of our grand plan to develop a new school debating league amongst Yorkshire schools.

A final word: unlike other groups aimed at young professionals, this is absolutely not about networking, or business, or specific professions, or money, or any other such nefariousness. We aim to do good in Leeds, and our door is open to anyone who wants to contribute to the community in a way that other groups don’t quite account for.
