Leeds Poverty Truth Commission works on the principle 'nothing about us without us is for us'. If people who struggle against poverty in our city are not involved in thinking through ways to tackle poverty we miss out on their experience and wisdom.

Our aim is to ensure that people experiencing and who have experienced poverty first-hand are at the heart of how Leeds thinks and acts when tackling poverty and equality.
We believe that people living in poverty being involved in the process will make a difference to the decisions being made, and will lead to new solutions being discovered.
