Trans Pride Leeds started in 2018 and was the first trans pride celebration not just in Yorkshire, but in the North of England.
The local transgender community were tired of feeling pushed aside by the LGB side of the community especially when it came to pride celebrations, so in true Leeds fashion armed with a Do-It-Yourself ethos, we created our own pride here in Leeds.
Trans Pride Leeds knows the importance of prioritising trans, non-binary and intersex people and are ever determined to be community-led and be by trans people for trans people.
In both 2018 and 2019 on Transgender Day of Visibility we held pride marches which were attended by 200+ people each year, as well as members of the community from across the North of England attending a programme of events such as craft days, film screening, talks, gigs, performance nights, exhibitions, boardgaming days, sober events, karaoke nights and much more.
