Details:

The Pedallers Arms is a place to come and learn how to repair your bike in a friendly atmosphere. We are a co-operative of people, all volunteers, who want to help people fix up their own bikes. We are all CTC advanced mechanic trained.

The emphasis is on “anyone can fix their bike”. We have tools, books and time for you. Come drop into one of our sessions.

We ask for a donation towards rent and wear and tear, but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds. We’re based on Mabgate Green, off Regent Street (near-ish the WY Playhouse) and we’re open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 4 – 8pm. We’ll also be open other times too so check our “Opening Hours” on our website.

Our aims are:

  • To empower people to maintain their own bicycle and provide accessible learning opportunities for all levels of ability.
  • To help marginal or under represented groups who cycle to feel comfortable with their bikes and the space so they can in turn help others. To promote bikes as a cheap transport option.
  • To re-use old bicycle parts to keep environmental and financial costs to users low, thereby keeping useful resources from going to landfill.
  • To use established co-operative structures to ensure sustainability and continuity of service. We are not-for profit and any profits will go back into the project.
