***Takes place in Baines wing 2.15 at Leeds University – not sure where to go? Meet us at 5.45pm on Parkinson Steps***

The Communist Manifesto famously begins ‘A Spectre is Haunting Europe – the spectre of communism’. Despite 170 years passing since it’s publication – capitalist politicians continue to the ideas of the manifesto’s key author, Karl Marx.

Join us for an introductory look at some of the key ideas expressed in the manifesto, and their relevance for struggles taking place today.

If you want to do some background reading ahead of the meeting, then why not check out the Communist Manifesto itself – https://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1848/communist-manifesto/ or a more modern introduction written on the 150th anniversary of publication – http://www.marxist.net/marx/m2frame.htm?150.htm.
