From medieval township to complex 21st-century city, Leeds has grown, changed and been reinvented as a result of a number of powerful forces. But the process hasn’t always been straightforward or completely successful. Urban geographer Rachael Unsworth will explain how economic, demographic, technological, social, cultural and political factors influence change, and what Leeds’ prospects are for the future.
If you’d like to make an evening of your visit to Left Bank Leeds, why not stay for Left Bank Cinema: The Bentley Effect at 8pm? It focuses on a peaceful and strategic community protest movement against the development of a unique part of Australia. You can grab a drink and a snack from the bar in between events.
