Join Frack Free Leeds for an introduction to Fracking, and to discuss the risks associated with Fracking Waste being processed at Knostrop Water Treatment Works.
We will be joined by Julia Collings, who holds a PhD in treating highly toxic waste water, for a Q&A session. As only one of four places in the UK where fracking waste can be processed, the canals and rivers in Leeds are at risk from heavy metals, carcinogenic chemicals and radioactive waste entering our waterways and affecting public health.
We will also be showing a recent documentary about Fracking in the UK, called Power Trip, which has been funded by Lush.
Refreshments will be provided, and the event is child-friendly. Please message us with any accessibility needs.
