Leeds Momentum invites you to join us for the first anti-fascist assembly of 2019, to participate in the building of an effective and reimagined ‘total anti-fascism’ in Leeds.

Come along and get involved as we look at recent developments in anti-fascism, and discuss how to broaden antifascist activism into community and feminist organising.

Context:
The far-right have been growing rapidly in the past few years, fuelled by global economic turmoil, and a ruling-class that is desperate to divide the working-class and cling on to their wealth and power by any means necessary.

Internationally, fascists is coming to power in more and more countries. In the UK, anti-fascism has been almost entirely geared towards combatting street-movements.

While fascists always need opposing in the streets, on its own this isn’t enough to combat the growth of the far-right, the constant stream of right-wing propaganda in the media, and government policies like the racist ‘hostile environment’.

Childcare and food will be organised by the Leeds Momentum Social Reproduction Working Group. Please contact us at leedspeoplesmomentum@gmail.com to give us an idea of numbers and the ages of children, if you wish to use the creche.
