DESCRIPTION:Leeds Momentum invites you to join us for the first anti-fascist assembly of 2019\, to participate in the building of an effective and reimagined ‘total anti-fascism’ in Leeds. \nCome along and get involved as we look at recent developments in anti-fascism\, and discuss how to broaden antifascist activism into community and feminist organising.  \nContext:\nThe far-right have been growing rapidly in the past few years\, fuelled by global economic turmoil\, and a ruling-class that is desperate to divide the working-class and cling on to their wealth and power by any means necessary.  \nInternationally\, fascists is coming to power in more and more countries. In the UK\, anti-fascism has been almost entirely geared towards combatting street-movements. \nWhile fascists always need opposing in the streets\, on its own this isn’t enough to combat the growth of the far-right\, the constant stream of right-wing propaganda in the media\, and government policies like the racist ‘hostile environment’.  \nChildcare and food will be organised by the Leeds Momentum Social Reproduction Working Group.
