Leeds NE and NW Labour Parties, the Green Party and GALBA invite you to an online meeting on Monday June 22 at 7pm.

TOPIC:
Coming out of Covid-19, the Green New Deal and the proposed expansion of Leeds Bradford Airport.

When we emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic, how can we ensure we do not return to the ‘old normal’ but instead put the climate emergency and the Green New Deal at the heart of rebuilding our economy and society?
This raises crucial questions regarding work, jobs, skills and technology and will involve difficult choices. For example, can we continue to increase aviation with particular reference to the proposed expansion of Leeds Bradford airport? What steps can we take now to influence these issues?

SPEAKERS:
Suzanne Jeffery – Chair of the Campaign against Climate Change (CCC) and Chair of the CCC Trade Union Group.
Tim Goodall – Coordinator of Headingley Green Party, GALBA committee member and Branch Secretary of The University of Leeds UCU.
Alex Sobel – MP, Leeds North West.
Hilary Wainwright – Writer, campaigner and activist, founder of Red Pepper magazine.

This is a FREE open meeting and we hope all who are interested in these crucial issues will register and participate.
