So how does it work?

Bring a maximum of 20 items of clothing (if you are bringing children’s clothes too please feel free to bring 20 items of children’s clothing in addition to the 20 items of ‘adult’ clothing)

Clothes to bring:

Clothing – anything ‘gently’ worn, in good & clean condition – something you would be happy to receive.
Ladies and gents clothing.
Sports clothes, school uniforms.
Children & baby clothes
Shoes & boots
Accessories – bags, scarves, hats, gloves etc
Not underwear or swimwear – unless new
Nothing with holes, tears, open seams or bobbling
Nothing over stretched or discoloured.
No items with broken or missing buttons, zips & fastenings.

Donated clothing should be brought between 11:30am and 1:00pm – to give our volunteers enough time to sort through it and hand it up.

You can find us at Bramley Community Centre, on Waterloo Lane, Bramley. Just near Bramley Shopping Centre.

So it works a little bit like a ‘Bring and Buy sale’ – except the clothing you bring acts as your currency for the clothing you ‘buy’ – you can ‘buy’ up to the number of items of clothing you have donated. A straight swap basically.

On entry to the clothing exchange you will be asked to pay a fee of £3. You will then move on to the check-in desk. The clothes you have donated will be checked in a counted. You will be provided with a token – for you to swap for the clothing you want to take.

Once you have paid your entry fee and your donated clothes have been checked in you are free to browse the various rails and tables displaying all of our donated items. You are welcome to try items on – there will be a changing area. While you are browsing you can get yourself a cup of tea or coffee and buy some cake or a bun to go with it, have a sit down and chat while you make your choices. There’s no rush.

You can take up 20 items of clothing (plus 20 children’s clothes if you have donated those too). Once you have made your choices take them to the checkout desk where they will be swapped for the token you received at check-in.

Clothes left over at the end of the event will either be donated to various charity shops – or will be carried over into another clothing exchange event.
