Letter to candidates [with tokens]

Posted 9 years ago

Dear [Candidate],

I hope this reaches you well. I know this is a very busy time for you with the election just round the corner, but I would really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to tell me where you stand on the Fair Ten Challenge questions. I live in the [Constituency] constituency and will be using these results to inform my vote.

The Fair Ten Challenge is a campaign to get Leeds election candidates to commit to strong action on social and environmental justice. Compiled and selected by the registered users of the Leeds for Change website, the challenge consists of a 10-point manifesto covering a range of issues including the NHS, climate change, benefit sanctions, Trident and refugee rights.

We’re asking you and all the other Leeds candidates to sign up to individual points on the manifesto. The results will be published on the Leeds for Change website, which has 93 groups and organisations in membership.

Here’s a link to a form you can use to submit your answers.

They are simple Yes/No questions and commitments, but there is space to elaborate if you wish. If you haven’t done so already, please return the form with your answers asap to fair10@leedsforchange.org.uk. Thank you.

Alongside the people of [Constituency], I eagerly await your response.

Best wishes,
