Woodcraft Folk – New Groups Project

Creating more opportunities for Education for Social Change in West Yorkshire.
Community and Youth & Education
Details:

The Woodcraft Folk is an educational movement for children and young people, designed to develop self confidence and activity in society, with the aim of building a world based on equality, friendship, peace and cooperation.

The New Groups project aims to recruit 120 new volunteers and create 400 new Woodcraft Folk places in West Yorkshire, starting in Headingley, Hyde Park, Meanwood, Harehills, Gledhow and Kirkstall Valley.

“Play out” events in parks, schools and community venues across Leeds will give children and adults their first taste of Woodcraft. It’s really exciting to be able to offer this level of support to new groups. It means we are in a great place to reach those most in need of top quality youth provision.

The New Groups team would love to hear from:

  • People interested in helping out with a new group
  • Schools and community centres looking for activities for toddlers to teenagers
  • Children and parents/ carers looking for fun activities and a friendly community
