SUMMAT IS BACK!
Join us on the 9th of March at Notre Dame College in Leeds, for a festival of resistance that brings together creativity, debates, discussions, workshops, markets, zines, kids space, art, food and music from around Leeds & Yorkshire.
We’re living through extraordinary times. The future holds immense hope, possibility and potential for change alongside real threats. But we also have huge opportunities to re-think and re-order the world, locally and globally…
As it always has been, our future will be determined by ordinary people learning about and finding our place within uplifting social movements for change. Together, we can reshape our communities, city and world towards a more just, compassionate, and sustainable future.
Connect & make lasting relationships with new people of all walks of life from around Leeds & Yorkshire. Explore new ideas and big issues. Share our unique stories, wisdom, experiences. Have fun, think and act creatively. Debate, disagree. Seek solutions and collaborations. Look beyond, vision alternative futures, and map the practical steps to getting there.
The full programme is now available. You can view it here: https://bit.ly/2DjOlpj
CALL OUT FOR VOLUNTEERS!
To make it all possible we are looking for a big team of brilliant volunteers to commit to 2 hours or more of helping out on the day. If you’d like to get involved please fill in your details here: https://bit.ly/2JtAAY6
We are only able to put on this event with the help of generous funders Barry Amiel & Norman Melburn Trust, The Lipman-Miliband Trust, The Economic Justice Project, Leeds Social and Environmental Justice Action Network (SEnJA Net), Cornerstone Housing Co-operative, and Gifting Leeds.
What is a Summat?
Politicians are always heading off to summits about important issues. Leeds Summat’s in 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2016 gave everyday people the chance to discuss these issues too, but in a much more fun, more Yorkshire way!
Will it be accessible?
Wheelchair accessible. Gender Neutral Toilets. Travel bursaries, childcare bursaries, kids creche, and British sign language interpreting available. Please let us know if there is more we can do to help make the event accessible for you.
