High Rise is a unique programme which provides opportunities for members with profound and multiple learning disabilities to perform and create, and to have their work seen in public places.
The Music group have performed 6 musicals across the three year project, which have taken place in theatres, museums, dance studios, a ruined abbey, and church halls across Leeds.
The musical has been inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Leeds West Indian Carnival and the celebratory exhibition at the Tetley gallery, which the group visited In October 2017. They performed an abridged version last December, and as the three year project draws to a close, they will present the musical again, with extra songs and to a packed audience.
This performance is child friendly, and suitable as a fun day out for young families during half term.
Tickets are being sold as PAYF on the door, with all donations going towards the High Rise Music group. Nobody will be turned away if they cannot afford to pay.
