Join us for an action packed day of learning to cut and weld metal, and embark on an adventurous escapade to make some amazing sculptures from absolute scrap and junk.

This exciting one day course is intended to help us learn by doing, and by the end of the day, everybody will be able to make use of the most common welding and metal cutting machinery to cut metal to size and make good joints for sculptural purposes.

We will brandish angle grinders, chop saws, files, hacksaws, rivet guns, drills and burnishers to cut out metal to size and put a fine finish on it, and then use stick welders and MIG welders to stick it all together into the most fantastical creations our imaginations can conjure.

This course is an optimum adventure to embark upon with a partner so you can creatively conjure the vision together and learn in tandem, whilst watching out for each other’s safety.

You will be provided with all personal protective equipment including overalls, gloves, face shields, masks and hair ties, but we ask that you wear strong footwear which you are not emotionally attached to, as the hot welding sparks damage shoes. Open top boots are not acceptable – please wear leather shoes with no gaps or mesh. Old walking boots are a good option.

The course will be delivered with a higher ratio of supervisors to participants, so that we can watch out for safety, and make sure everybody gets the chance to ask all the questions they need to ask.

This is going to be a great day, loads of creative learning and adventuring with exciting equipment so please book your place before they get snapped up!

Advance tickets £40 before 26/5 / £45 after or OTD
