Looking up at Parkinson steps, turn left and then right to go under the covered bit the towards student union. (Michael Sadler building is on your left, the old part of the university that looks like it should be in Harry Potter is on your right). Take the first right up the path to the big old wooden doors which open automatically(magic!). From the main entrance, go straight on past the front desk, turn right and first left.
