\\ TRANS* PEOPLE IN SOCIETY – BETWEEN THE RISE OF THE ALT-RIGHT, WIDESPREAD ANTI-FEMINISM AND TOXIC MASCULINITY – THE SPACE GROWS SMALL FOR GENDER-NONCONFORMING INDIVIDUALS //

Maja Hagedorn from Queers to the Front Booking will be coming to Leeds to present her experiences as a trans* woman which have led to the emergence of QTTF who provide a service to queer and non-binary artists, supporting them in sharing their art and words with audiences. She will lead discussions on gender identity and expression as well as sharing stories between herself and attendees.

*All are welcome!* However this event strives to encourage the empowerment of marginalised communities – particularly within music – by fostering an environment in which people passionate about these issues, whether existing friends or meeting for the first time. Maja will begin with a talk from her personal perspective, followed by discussion and an audience-steered workshop in which attendees may participate or engage by listening.

Plus a 30 minute set from Moya Silk

Entry is £5 suggested on the door and all money will go to the speaker and venue. But no-one will be turned away due to lack of funds so the event is openly sliding scale/pay what you can. Any money made after costs will be donated to Mermaids. More info about their work can be found here: https://mermaidsuk.org.uk/

Unfortunately Chunk is not wheelchair accessible. The collective continue to make efforts into the space being as inclusive as possible however it is not currently possible to accommodate wheelchairs. The event will be seated. Please contact us if you’d like to attend but have concerns about barriers to and require more information or to raise any issues.

CHUNK is up one flight of steps and there are several small steps to get into the gig space. The toilets are gender neutral.

If the event looks like it’s going to be well attended BTT will operate a bar for non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. For now we’re keeping things BYOB.
