ThreadBear Theatre perform Playback Theatre, a unique form of improvised storytelling. We create a ritual space where any story, however ordinary or extraordinary, can be told and made into theatre. The audience tell us their real life tales and we ‘play them back’ immediately.

In Playback Theatre we bring your stories to life with music and drama. We welcome you to share your stories and see moments from your lives made into theatre, creating connections with each other along the way.

This form of improvisation was created by Jonathan Fox in New York in 1975 and is linked to Psychodrama and Forum Theatre. It is used across 50 countries worldwide, but we are the only company working in this style in West Yorkshire.

TASTER WORKSHOP:
This is a taster Playback training session, offering an opportunity to begin to learn this unique form of performance.

You don’t have to be clever! You can simply enjoy discovering – or rediscovering – your expressive and creative potential.

This is improvisation for all levels of experience. All you need are curiosity, generosity and the courage to enjoy yourself.

COST:
£10 taster training workshop

Pay by cash on the door.

FURTHER TRAINING:
We are planning to run a 6 week course in Playback Theatre in the coming months for those who wish to explore this further and in more detail.
