Extinction Rebellion (XR) is a peaceful movement addressing the climate crisis through non violent direct action (NVDA).

In this NVDA training you will find out how to take part in Extinction Rebellion actions. The training will cover the practice of non-violent techniques: showing you how to de-escalate tense situations, how to interact with the police, what to do if you get arrested and much more.

This training is designed to give you confidence when on protests and is essential for anyone who wishes to get more clued up on their rights and non violent direct action.

Please note, this is not just for those who are willing to get arrested! It is for everyone considering taking part in any XR action.

Please bring some vegan food to share, ideally home cooked to reduce our plastic waste, but anything that you can contribute is welcome 🙂

We will be starting at 1pm and the training should be finished around 5pm (including some breaks), but please arrive from 12:30pm and feel free to hang around after to get to know each other!

OPEN SOURCE ARTS is a place for making; a space for practicing community, creativity, sustainability + collaboration across art forms, crafts, backgrounds + skill levels. There are two gender neutral toilets, one with improved access, and the ground floor is wheelchair accessible.

We are being allowed (very generously!) to use this venue for free, but small donations to support this amazing space are appreciated.

If you have any accessibility concerns please do get in contact with us.
