The latest from Palme d’Or winning director Ken Loach (The Wind That Shakes the Barley, I, Daniel Blake) continues in his tradition of socially motivated, political filmmaking. Ricky is an ex-tradesman, hired by a freelance delivery service while his wife Abby cares for the elderly on a zero-hours contract. As their son becomes involved in anti-social behaviour and Ricky’s job proves increasingly untenable, the family is pushed to its limits.
Sorry We Missed You is both a powerful indictment of the changing world of work in modern Britain, and an intimate portrayal of one family’s struggle within it.
