Loosely based on Virginia Woolf’s 1928 novel, this sumptuous film, fizzing with wit and humour, is directed by one of Britain’s most creative feminist film makers. The story focuses on Orlando (Tilda Swinton), whose quest for love, first as a man, then as a woman, evolves over four centuries in an ironic journey through English history and the politics of gender.
