We are really excited to move forward with this so hope you can join us for a planning meeting.
Level 2 meeting room 1 (just along from the roof garden).
Let me know if you can’t make this time but would like to still be involved LUURooted@leeds.ac.uk
We’ll be looking at the specific roles involved in the enterprise & working out the next stages.
There are loads of transferable skills to be gained from being involved & potentially there is the possibility of paid work so it’s a fantastic opportunity not to be missed!
What is LUU Leaves?
LUU Leaves is an exciting new student run enterprise. All the salad will be sown, grown & picked by students using LUU’s roof garden. Many of you will know that LUU Rooted has been doing salad bags in the past but now we want to hand it over to students as a fantastic opportunity to have a go at running it! Caroline & I will be on hand to support but everything -from the growing to the marketing & finance -will be student run.
How much commitment?
We imagine it will be around 2 hours a week but this is flexible. Potentially there is the possibility of paid work.
What are the roles?
Growers/pickers –The salad pick will be every Monday 9-11.30am. This is to guarantee it’s in Essentials & the Refectory as early as possible.
Finance-This will probably be around 1 hr a week on a Monday, ideally straight after the pick but this could be flexible. This will be updating the spreadsheet & sending out invoices.
Marketing- Around 2 hours a week. Social media and flyers, contacting potential customers.
Impact- Around 1 hr a week. Monitor & measure the project and feedback to our funders.
Do you have to be a student?
No, everyone is welcome.
If this sounds interesting do come along to the meeting on Monday 12th March 9am LUU meeting room 1 (just along from the roof garden).
