If you have ever fancied having a go at contemporary dance, but felt intimidated or thought you had missed the boat – then this is for you!
This three week introductory course will slowly and organically break down the fundamentals of contemporary technique, offering the opportunity for enthusiastic adults to learn together in a warm, welcoming and supportive environment.
We will focus on opening up new pathways in the body, finding a sense of ease and freedom, and promoting positive body awareness, functional movement, integration and health.
No, you won’t have to ‘be a tree’ – and yes, you will learn all the basics, from alignment to coordination and musicality 🙂
The class will also offer a sense of ownership and possibility, allowing space for guided play and experimentation, and providing practical tools with which to approach our dancing with confidence.
By week three, you will undoubtedly feel more connected to the intelligence of your moving body, and most importantly, you will have enjoyed doing it!
This course will be facilitated by Izzy Brittain.
