Do you want to master the perfect handstand but haven’t found the right tools to get you there? Then this is the course for you!

Contrary to popular belief, there’s lots more at play than simple brute strength and determination. The key to a perfect handstand is being aware of certain aspects and key areas of the body and really fine tuning them in order to perfect your alignment, balance point and stability.

We will look at certain areas of the body, step by step in order to really pin point what it is that you need to work on overall and as individuals, because every handstand body has different areas that may hold you back from achieving a solid shape.

This taster course will begin on Wednesday 18th April through to Wednesday 2nd May for three consecutive weeks, starting at 7pm and ending at 8:30pm.

–£30 EARLY BIRD PRICE–
–£35 after Wednesday 4th April–

As part of this course we will learn about:

– correct handstand alignment
– reptition excersises for consistancy
– endurance and stamina exersises
– specific ‘handstand muscle’ strengthening/conditioning
– specifc handstand flexibility
– group/partner excersises
– tips and tricks to carry on practising at home

There’s a lot of technique and theory behind achieving the perfect handstand but it can’t be stressed enough that it takes REPETITION and DETERMINATION!

It will be challenging but also immensely rewarding as we over come fears, hurdles and frustrations. We are excited to convert you into the weird and wonderful world of standing on your hands…

This course will be taught by the very capable *hands* of Nina Bannister.

Nina has extensive experience of handstand training at a high-level under her belt. She has trained as a gymnast, dancer and completed a circus and physical theater program at Circomedia as well as short courses with Bristol handstands.

After having trained short term with Hannah Fin, “Contortion Girl”, Nina gained a great foundation for safe and effective stretching techniques. She learnt a lot from her peers, such as Russian master Sasha who toured with the Moscow State Circus, and built up a good training ethic (the real key for consistent handstand progression). Nina has attended a 5-week course in Stockholm, at DOCH- a world-renowned circus school, famous for its impeccable technique and very high level of training.

P.S. You WILL be required to go upside down so please don’t be alarmed when Nina asks you to do so. However, we will build up gradually and make sure everyone is feeling safe and happy, but please keep this in mind. Bring a bottle of water and wear close fitting, comfortable clothing i.e. Leggings and tight sports/vest top. This is partly so you don’t expose yourself but also so Nina can clearly see you body shape and alignment. Nina looks forward to meeting and teaching you all!
