Leeds Acts!, in partnership with TLA, Voluntary Action Leeds, Latch, Community Homes and Invest North are putting together a full day FREE conference.
This conference will bring together sector specialists from across the city to lead the discussion on the future of housing in Leeds.
Pooling experience and knowledge from the different perspectives of academics, landlords, developers and social housing providers, this day will explore how to draw together the three critical elements of the environment, community and housing, to develop a shared approach to the future of housing in Leeds.
Our aspiration is that this inaugural event will be the start of creating the legacy of Good Place-making for Future Housing in Leeds.
The day will consist of a morning of panel talks, from a variety of speakers, including a landlord, John Saffman, Director of Invest North, Mark Denton, Head of Council Housing Growth, Leeds City Council and many others, followed by an audience Q&A session.
And after lunch, there will be a carousel of workshops on the following themes:

These workshops will be co-delivered by a unique partnership of practical and academic specialists, including architect Irena Bauman, research fellow Donal Brown, and many more.

Award winning and Experienced TV and radio presenter/reporter.
Peg presents a weekly Current Affairs TV show on Made in Leeds TV and BCB 106.6fm. She is also a reporter/video maker for CultureVulture TV, an online culture website and travel video blogger. She has been BBC Radio Leeds Roving Reporter and on location presenter (Broadcast Journalist).
Keynote Speaker; Katja Stille
Katja is a Director of Tibbalds Planning and Urban Design and Vice Chair of the Urban Design Group.
Working with private and public sector clients, as well as communities, Katja’s objective is to push the placemaking agenda and ensure we are building people-friendly places.
Katja seeks to unlock the issues that prevent us from delivering good design and placemaking. Currently one of her projects is delivering Northstowe, a new town in Cambridgeshire, promoted by Homes England, and one of the NHS’s Healthy New Towns. Her work incorporates principles of health and well-being from early masterplanning stages through to design codes and delivery.
