This year Students for Global Health Leeds are running the annual Global Health Short Course on the theme ‘Our Roles Within The Goals’. This will cover a range of different topics, and how these relate to the Sustainable Development Goals. We’ll be running a series of 5 events every Thursday (and a social!), and if you attend 4/5 you will get a certificate (for those wanting something to spice up your CV…)

Our third event is a talk by Chris Cushings, an MSF veteran who has been responsible for organising countless missions in 17 wars and 2 disasters in 27 countries in Africa, Europe and Asia. Chris will be talking about coordination in the field of humanitarian action, and his experiences with Plan International in the Philippines during the emergency response to typhoon Haiyan in 2013. Chris is a very engaging speaker with heaps of experience within the field.

So come along to the events every Thursday from the 15th February to the 15th March, 6.30-8pm. It will be a £1 for non-members, and free for members- so get your membership now!
