“Loneliness doesn’t discriminate, it is something many of us could easily help with.”
Festive Angel will work to address the impact loneliness has on so many different sections of society. It will focus on the positive action we can all take to recognise it, build connections and help ourselves and others.

The Project aims not simply to highlight the problem, but more importantly to act as a “call to action”. With the message ‘Start a Conversation’, the Festive Angel aims to try to get people talking at all levels – whether chatting to a neighbour, visiting an old friend, or just making time for the people they meet.

This project is led by Young people aged 12+ from across West Yorkshire

We would love support to make this project successful with the help of you or your organisation, we all can take action to combat loneliness during the holidays. We would love your support and donation to help the make a different in our city.

Invite/ share/ book a ticket for that neighbour you know has no family, a friend you noticed is more isolated, a single parent struggling to make time for themselves, a young person you know is living alone with no tides with the community, an older couple/person that will benfit from so intergeneration fun.

Our objectives are to get people, who may not usually have companions at Christmas to congregate and share food, enjoy performances and experience a Humans of Leeds exhibition to combat loneliness around the festive season.

We aim to secure donations of presents and food from local/individuals/shops/organisation and restaurants.

We are looking to use the space to bring people together of all generations, to celebrate the Festive season with thoes who may otherwise spend it alone.

We are working in partnership with Boom Chikka Boom to create amazing Christmas games and entertainment.
The Real Junk Food Project Leeds to provide amazing food on a #PAYF basis prepared meals and produce to take home. TRJFP Founder – Adam Smith – will be joining us in the kitchen. Vegan & veggie options will be available.
The corn exchange has been generous to give us the amazing venue for free to help with this social action.

With amazing young people from Norte Dame sixth form, Leeds city College, Roundhay sixth form, Breeze got talent, and Angel of youths are project managing this event

Many of the people who come to the party are senior citizens who live on their own and have to survive on very low incomes. Our Christmas Party gives them the chance to join in the festive season, and is an important community event.

We work hard to make it a successful community event, but we can only achieve this if we are given crucial support by businesses like yourself. The total organization of the party costs us £5000. Any contribution you can make towards these costs, however small, is much appreciated. We are also looking for gifts for the raffle, decorations for the hall, contributions of food, and all sorts of other things.

Everyone who has supported the party will be credited on the day, and in any publicity.

If you think you can help, either with a cash donation or a gift, please contact me at 07905623011, or send a cheque, made payable to Angel of Youths to the below address.
