Extinction Rebellion: Green Drinks Leeds February 2019

Extinction Rebellion is a new organisation that has taken the world by storm since it’s declaration of rebellion back in October. Born out of the Occupy Movement, XR demands that the Government tells the truth about the Climate disaster and calls for rapid social and political change in the next 11 years to limit Climate breakdown. XR is a strictly non-violent organisation yet acknowledges the need for direct action and civil disobedience to put pressure on governments to agree to our demands. This talk will be an introduction to the Climate Science behind XR and the goals and strategies of the organisation as well as as an explanation of how we are mobilized and how to get involved.
