The Equinox Open Mic: Witch Club! Special will be the third edition in our much loved open mic sessions, and this time we’re going for a woman-themed, celebratory extravaganza event.
Expect the usual welcome, as we share all manner of creative sorcery, accompanied by fire, feasting & plentiful food for thought on a feminist theme.
Our featured acts may bend genres, genders and whatever else they fancy, all in honour of International Women’s Day, #100years since women got the vote & local charity Basis Yorkshire.* WAHEY!
As usual, you are more than welcome to take part – and as ever, that goes for whoever you are and however you classify yourself. Come one, come all. Come woman. Come man. Come non-binary humans!
Bring us your rants, chants & comedy-cabaret acts. Sing us folklore, tell us fairytales, dust off dirty ditties and questionable party tricks. We want it all.
Basically, if you can do it in 10 minutes or less, with minimal space and set-up time, yer in!
There are limited slots available so please message the Open Source Arts FB page well in advance if you would like to request a spot.
All fledgling acts will be met with a friendly, supportive atmosphere, and minimal heckling 😉
We encourage you to arrive early to make the most of our witch-themed mini-workshops, specially designed to whet your whistle for what’s to come.
We will also have plentiful lush grub, wholesome treats and drinkable things on offer for you to fill your boots with.
Keep hearts and souls open, and eyes peeled for a tongue-in-cheek ritual of collective resistance…

Open from 6pm for treats and inspirational happenings, for an 8pm open mic kick off.
Entry is just £4 OTD (cash only)
*£1 from every entry fee will go to Basis Yorkshire, a local charity who provide safety, information and support to sex workers living / working in Leeds, and to girls and young women experiencing sexual exploitation.
If you are feeling flush, there will also be a donation bucket doing the rounds. Feel free to contribute extra, should you be able!
