Hello everybody! In collaboration with the BEAUTIFUL people at Rainbow Junktion in All Hallows Church, we are inviting you to join us for an ONLINE version of the Arts SOUP. We raised a fantastic £150 for the winning artist last time and with your help, we think we can do even BIGGER things together in the future!!
In the uncertainty during the Covid-19 lockdown, many artists, events and organisations have had to adapt to the new reality that physical distancing and self-isolation has brought. Likewise, we want to adapt the SOUP format to support wonderful and inspiring online projects that have been bringing brightness into people’s lives at home. Livestreamers, Zoom-eventeers and online resource sharers; we’re looking at you!
If you’re new to the concept, an Art SOUP is a democratic microgranting experiment where 4 local artists deliver a pitch for a project or concept they’re developing, and the audience who attend choose one of them to receive a pot of funding that they have created.
We will be opening the zoom call up for everyone, but a donation of £5-£15 to our online page at the bottom is required to vote – the more donations, the more money the artist receives. And don’t worry; we will be posting recipe cards so that we can all enjoy a healthy bowl of delicious soup together!
The SOUP doesn’t just open a new source of funding for artists online, it gives the community the power to choose where their money goes. It gives YOU the opportunity to fund the artists and initiatives that speak to YOUR interests.
