We’re back with our Arts SOUP Online microgranting project! After the success of our previous online event in which the amazing asylum-seekers outreach project; Musicultural Conversations won a whopping £155, we’re holding another event this August to allow local artists and organisations to pitch their projects to a voting audience. We’d love for you to join us!!
If you’re new to the concept, an Art SOUP is a democratic microgranting experiment where 4 local artists deliver a pitch for a project or concept they’re developing, and the audience who attend choose one of them to receive a pot of funding that they have created.
The SOUP model is powered by the people who attend the event, so the more tickets sold and donations given, the more money the winning artist will receive. We have lots planned alongside the pitches so expect some dance breaks and performative spectacle in the schedule!
We will be opening the zoom call up for everyone, but a donation of £5-£15 is required to vote – the more donations, the more money the artist receives. And don’t worry; we will be posting recipe cards so that we can all enjoy a healthy bowl of delicious soup together!
The SOUP doesn’t just open a new source of funding for artists online, it gives the community the power to choose where their money goes. It gives YOU the opportunity to fund the artists and initiatives that speak to YOUR interests.
EAT! VOTE! FUND!
