Are you interested in Global Health? Want to know more about Global Surgery and Anaesthesia? ??

You’re invited by Students for Global Health, Lifebox-Students for Global Health Leeds and Cutting Edge to hear about how you can get INVOLVED with Global Surgery on a local, national and international scale.

We have three speakers in the field of Global Health/Surgery lined up for you to talk about what their exciting careers entail, including the CEO of the Lifebox Foundation charity!! To end the night, we’ll be screening an award-winning short film documentary called “The Checklist Effect,” by Lifebox. ?

Lifebox is the only non-governmental organisation devoted to safer surgery and anaesthesia in low-resource countries. Lifebox was founded in 2011 and is chaired by Professor Atul Gawande, a surgeon and author of the critically acclaimed novels ‘The Checklist Effect’ and ‘Being Mortal.’

With a principle aim of distributing life-saving pulse oximeters to low-income countries with scare electricity, resources and water supplies, Lifebox is now at the forefront of pushing the boundaries that prevent safe surgical care and anaesthesia in over 100 countries, saving millions of lives!!

**As this is a fundraising effort for Lifebox, we’ll be charging £3 on the door! In return, you’ll get a shiny CERTIFICATE for attendance, with free pizza and snacks on the night! ?**
