On this day – 1st May – in 1786, Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro was performed for the very first time and by way of celebration we are screening the Director’s cut of the award winning (Oscars, Golden Globes, BAFTA’s etc) film Amadeus, which features 22 minutes of additional footage.
A fictionalized, music filled biography of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart set in Vienna during the latter half of the 18th century. The film follows Italian composer Antonio Salieri at the court of Emperor Joseph II, and his jealous vendetta against his younger rival, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
PG – Parental Guidance. General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children.
Doors at 6.45pm. Introduction by Gurj Kang at 7.00pm, followed by a short break before the film starts at 7.30pm.
