DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday 29th March for the University of Leeds Annual Student Sustainability Research Conference 2019 (#UoLSSRC19). \nRegister through Eventbrite to attend at http://uolssrc.eventbrite.co.uk \nBuilding on last year’s conference\, this is an event not to be missed; an opportunity to experience the latest sustainability research and projects taking place at Leeds\, to network\, collaborate\, develop meaningful contacts and to broaden your understanding the challenges faced in a changing world. \nThis year’s keynote speech will be delivered by University of Leeds Chancellor Professor Dame Jane Francis. As Director of the British Antarctic Survey and a prominent polar scientist\, Dame Francis has conducted pioneering research – with numerous expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic – and has undertaken a wide range of international roles to promote the UK’s polar interests. Jane will be discussing her experiences to date\, her thoughts on single-use plastics as well as the recent launch of the University of Leeds and Leeds University Union #2023PlasticFree campaign. \nOver the course of the day\, there will be a poster exhibition in Parkinson Court\, along with morning and afternoon presentation sessions and workshops. Expect to see updates from projects using the campus as a test bed as part of the #LeedsLivingLab programme\, as well as research taking place across the Leeds city region\, and wider national and international sustainability projects. \nA full programme will be made available soon at http://sustainability.leeds.ac.uk/ssrc19. \nThis is a free event and is open to all however spaces are limited so please register in good time. \n
