Open Source Arts opened as a volunteer and resource centre for those affected by the devastating boxing day floods in Kirkstall, Leeds in 2015. Volunteers donated time, money, food and a warehouse full of items.

Since the flood, as Team Kirkstall River Stewardship we have organised regular volunteer days with the local community. The amazing efforts from the volunteers have cleaned up vast swathes of the riverside from the flood debris, and we continue to find and clean up the rubbish from the waterways.

We work from 10am until 2pm on the 2ND SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH with a break for tea in the middle. After the cleanup we go for a free lunch at a local eatery as a token of thanks!

Volunteer work can include creating and maintaining access paths, litter picking, clearing debris, installing bird-boxes etc. Meet new friends who live locally, learn new skills, and get the satisfaction of clearing up your local area of natural beauty. All equipment provided- wear strong footwear and bring a coat. Join us!
