DESCRIPTION:Outspoken returns to LS6 with a pre-Christmas show that’ll be the final spoken word event in all of Leeds this year (we think…)! \nWe’ve got another stellar lineup of top poets from across the city – featuring: \nKIM AND DEAN – the founders of The Happy Caterpillar – a raw vegan movement combining catering\, coaching and creativity to inspire people towards their highest potential. They created the Raw Words spoken word event at Roots and Fruits as well as the recent 4×4 Slam which brought together teams from four of Leeds’ best spoken word nights for one amazing event. They are as passionate about poetry as they are about veganism\, but don’t let that put you off – their food might be raw but so are the words they’ll hit you with. \nLENCE – a hip hop and grime artist who has recently featured on a BBC Radio Leeds Introducing live session and the Monday Night MixTape show. Fast\, passionate and emotive\, he also performs at spoken word events across Yorkshire\, merging poetry and rap together – taking inspiration from the world around him. \nED PRESTON – grew up in Northampton and moved to Leeds in 2012. He started writing lyrics as a teenager but in around 2016 began performing under the name Heinous Rhymes using live looping to create a musical backdrop for his vocals. His writing is varied and thought provoking\, influenced by his work as a doctor as well as his love of hip hop. He released his debut EP “Jump and Believe” in 2017 and has performed around the country. He has also created videos with local artists including a spoken word piece about the NHS. \nAnd there’ll be a round of open mic too – if anyone fancies performing in a five-minute slot on stage\, see Steve to get your name down. \n  \n
