DESCRIPTION:Extinction Rebellion (XR) is a peaceful movement addressing the climate crisis through non violent direct action (NVDA). \nIn this NVDA training you will find out how to take part in Extinction Rebellion actions. The training will cover the practice of non-violent techniques: showing you how to de-escalate tense situations\, how to interact with the police\, what to do if you get arrested and much more. \nThis training is designed to give you confidence when on protests and is essential for anyone who wishes to get more clued up on their rights and non violent direct action. \nPlease note\, this is not just for those who are willing to get arrested! It is for everyone considering taking part in any XR action. \nTraining is free\, but please bring some vegan food to share! We are being allowed (very generously!) to use this venue for free\, but small donations to support this amazing space\, and to cover refreshments are appreciated. \nOPEN SOURCE ARTS is a place for making; a space for practicing community\, creativity\, sustainability + collaboration across art forms\, crafts\, backgrounds + skill levels. There are two gender neutral toilets\, one with improved access\, and the ground floor is wheelchair accessible. \nIf you have any accessibility concerns please do get in contact with us. \nOnly click going if you’re definitely able to make it so we can keep a track of numbers\, and please arrive as soon after 5pm as possible so we don’t run late\, we can’t start later than 5:30. \n
