SUMMARY:Lobby Leeds City Council Budget Setting Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Following our public meeting to discuss how councils can resist austerity and Leeds City Council’s 2019-20 budget\, which includes adding £4.5 million to its general reserves\, Leeds TUC will be organising a lobby of Leeds City Council’s budget setting meeting on 27th February to promote these proposals. \nWe will be focussing on two points in particular: \n* Support for Leeds Unison’s campaign to see outsourced workers paid at least the same minimum wage that Leeds City Council is paying its in-house workforce.\n* Opposing the plans to increase rents in PFI council properties by an inflation-busting 3.4% \nThe full alternative proposals can be found on our website – https://leedstuc.wordpress.com/2019/02/16/leeds-tuc-to-lobby-councillors-for-alternative-budget-proposals/ \n
