SUMMARY:Having Difficult Conversations about Migration - Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Join Leeds Labour Campaign for Free Movement for a 2-hour participatory workshop on how to navigate difficult conversations about migration. \nDebates on migration and prejudice can be uncomfortable\, upsetting or angry\, and often do little to change anyone’s mind. At the same time\, fighting for a progressive stance on these issues is more important than ever\, and to do so it is paramount we learn how to successfully listen to and talk with people who hold different views. \nThis workshop is designed to give participants the confidence and skills to have more effective conversations about difficult topics\, and to teach how to create a space where people are listened to and ready to listen. Whether you are an activist with canvassing experience\, or just someone who wants to do more in your everyday conversations to counteract racism\, this workshop will equip you with the tools necessary to create a respectful environment where prejudiced views can be challenged. \nIf you think your Labour branch or CLP would be interested in hosting a workshop then please get in touch. \n
