DESCRIPTION:“The climate crisis is not just about the environment. It is a crisis of human rights\, of justice\, and of political will. Colonial\, racist\, and patriarchal systems of oppression have created and fuelled it. We need to dismantle them all.” – Greta Thunberg\, Luisa Neubauer and Angela Valenzuela \nThe rebellion against extinction has existed far longer than Extinction Rebellion has\, and historically it has been people of colour\, and marginalised groups fighting the hardest. They are disproportionately affected by climate and ecological breakdown despite being least at fault for it\, and due to histories of colonialism and resource exploitation\, are least resilient to its impacts. \nOur abuse of natural resources in pursuit of constant economic growth is what is driving this crisis\, and it all started with colonialism. \nIt is the responsibility of ALL of us to decolonise ourselves\, and the movements we are part of. \nYou DO NOT need to be part of XR to attend this workshop. \nIt will be at Former Bridge Street Church\, Bridge Street\, LS2 7QZ.
