SUMMARY:Brains\, Brawn and a Load of B*llocks (by Humans Being)
DESCRIPTION:A free online session exploring masculinity and men’s health – Wednesday 1st July 2pm – 3pm\n\nWhy are men: \n\nFar less likely to go to the doctor than women?\nTwice as likely to become addicted or die from drug misuse?\nTwice as likely to die from Covid-19?\nFour times more likely to die by suicide?\n\nDoes ‘being a man’ have to mean always being strong\, silent and totally independent? Or is this just a load of b*llocks that puts our mental and physical health at risk? \nThrough presentations\, discussion and quizzes\, this Zoom workshop will explore how the culture of masculinity affects health and how we can start to challenge and change it for the better. You’ll get some valuable ideas that will help you support your own health and that of men around you. \nFree of charge and open to anyone working or living in Leeds who identifies as male. Click  here to enrol. \nNew to Zoom or online learning? We’ll give you some help to get started. \nThis session is run by Humans Being as part of our Men\, Masculinity and Mental Health programme – a series of short free online workshops for men in Leeds focusing on improving men’s mental wellbeing during the pandemic. This introductory session will be followed by another four free workshops – more details soon. \n
